“Social Media is the Worst”
Social media is the worst thing for our brains
It turns attention into a game
As we sit back and drool
Our eyes and minds flitting from one post to the next
Never to rest
Like some broken pinball machine
The levers held not by ourselves
But by greedy ghouls in suits and hoodies
Sitting in glass walled C-Suites around the Bay
Demon spawn with dollars in their eyes
Proclaiming whatever social cause is in trend
Because their souls have rotten from within
But they’re not satisfied
No money or power can satiate their thirst
They want to turn us into zombies on earth
Our attention is our only currency
And it’s their currency too
So don’t give the ghouls another glance
Shut it down and seek romance
For your dreams will only be fulfilled
When you look away and start “running up that hill.”
“The Boy”
The boy kicked the stick
To rue death
But the stick felt no pain
Nor was death there in the stick
No, death had already passed
Like a wind.
Unnoticed until it was gone.
“The Moon”
The luminescent
Glow of the moon, bathing us in its resplendent glory.
